The story

Using traditional offset printing, produced by ISI Print Paris, Réunion des Musées Nationaux (RMN) provides catalogues for exhibitions at many French museums. Print runs average 3,000 catalogues and, with huge prepress demands, are sometimes not ready for openings. RMN’s goals were to:

Quickly print 50 to 100 units for openings
Use digital printing to produce catalogues in two or three days versus the traditional two to three weeks
Ensure comparable print quality
In the long-term, RMN would like to create an image database and Web-based POD tool
